Scandinavian Companies in Turkiye part 3

In my last blog part 2 I mentioned several Scandinavien companies and brands which are very visible and successful, before I mention some of the well known B2B companies I must mention the popularity of the Swedish juggernaut Ikea and its popularity. The Turkish consumers taste when it comes to home decor is very different then the Scandinavien in my opinion , for several reasons. Because of the warm climate turkish people spend a lot of time outside their home and on big balconies, maybe because of that reason you will not see big brand furniture, expensive high quality cutlery or special lamps inside living rooms which is very common in Denmark. Turkish people when they buy furniture they prioritize the living room because that is the one single area where guests are invited and attended to ,most of the other rooms in an average Turkish home are comfortable but modest. But I believe this trend is also changing.

In Turkiye homes are not as tiny as in Europe,1-2  room apartments are not as common as in the big cities of Europe, therefore there is not the same need for smart practical space saving solutions that IKEA is very well known for. And the concept of buying unfinished furniture and carrying it home and assembling it yourself is a very foreign concept which is very difficult to get accustomed to for Turkish people.  The average Turkish consumer has different priorities, there is a very big focus on having a car and if possible as good and expensive as possible. Eating out and going out is also a bigger priority than in Scandinavia. Still with these consumer differences IKEA continues to be hugely popular.

Pallsgård Is another Danish company having large operations in Turkiye , Palsgaard or Palsgård in danish is a world leading producer of Emulsifiers and stabilisers for the industrial food processing industry, working closely with its client ,the big local well known manufacturer of food snacks Ulker. Pallsgård has recently received a very prestigious award in Denmark , it has been chosen as the best workplace in Denmark.

Danish companies are very good at motivating their employees and for many years they have been on top when studies on effectiveness in the workplace have been measured with hard scientific methods , so having archived this reward in Denmark makes it so much more impressive. If you have a look at their social media accounts they announce 20-25 years of worker milestones for individual employees quite often. When you get inside this company you apparently dont want to get out again, thats how fun it is to work with emulsifiers i guess.Nobody knows which company in Turkiye has won the best workplace award, i dont think this award even exist in Turkiye.
